More screenings for "A New Story" in the works

An update on “A New Story,” the mini doc-series featuring some incredible people with intellectual disabilities who’ve crafted fulfilling lives thanks to vital support from their community.  Head on over to the project website for more info about the films. We are seeing a lot of excitement about this project!

Right now we are organizing screenings and discussions across the country with regional organizations and groups. We recently had the Canadian Down Syndrome Society share a film with their followers as part of the annual Down Syndrome Walk. We have had several other screenings so far and they’ve all been incredible. We are posting them on the events page on the website. There are many in the works that we aren’t able to put on there quite yet, but stay tuned. Do you want a chance to see the films? Contact us to request a screening – in person, or virtual.

In the films, you’ll meet Elliott, an international rugby player; Lily, a fashion runway model; and Kirby, who lives independently with the support of his amazing neighbours. Their stories are truly inspiring and show the power of community in challenging outdated views on disability.

We can’t wait to host lots more screenings and discussions.
