An update on “A New Story,” the mini doc-series featuring some incredible people with intellectual disabilities who’ve crafted fulfilling lives thanks to vital support from their community. Right now we are organizing screenings and discussions across the country with regional organizations and groups. We recently had the Canadian Down Syndrome Society share a film with their followers as part of the annual Down Syndrome Walk. We have had several other screenings so far and they’ve all been incredible. We are posting them on the events page on the website. In the films, you’ll meet Elliott, an international rugby player; Lily, a fashion runway model; and Kirby, who lives independently with the support of his amazing neighbours. Their stories are truly inspiring and show the power of community in challenging outdated views on disability.
