My Dad's Tapes – Official Selection at Hot Docs 2024
I am so excited to announce that My Dad’s Tapes will have it’s world premiere at the Hot Docs International Film Festival this year!

I began work on this film in 2020 when Kurtis approached me about the idea. Since then, it’s been a labour of love with many ups and downs. I’m so happy that others have been intrigued by this story in the way that I was when Kurtis first brought the possibility of it to me. This project is now blossoming into something that I think will touch and inspire a lot of people, and as filmmakers, that’s what we dream of doing, so I couldn’t be happier. I am so grateful to our small but mighty team that helped Kurtis and I bring this film to life, and all of those that provided feedback along the way. As a scrappy little shoestring budget arts grant film that has had a LOT of donated time and energy put into it, it seemed so farfetched that we would receive any industry recognition. So, it’s pretty amazing to receive this kind of validation through an official selection to one of the highest profile documentary festivals in the world.
The film will be playing on May 2nd and May 3rd in Toronto. Visit the film page for more info.
Sincerely,
Rob Viscardis
